Statement of Faith

Whereas we, being a corporate body of people of like precious faith: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life through His death and the power of His resurrection. Believe the Bible to be God’s word and the revelation of His will to man and accept it as our rule for faith and conduct. Believe Christian fellowship, mutual edification and evangelical effort, in the form of local churches, is God’s ordained order for His people. Believe each church is to assemble together for worship, fellowship, counsel, and instruction in the Word of God, and the work of the ministry. Believe each church should exercise the gifts and offices provided for in the New Testament to obtain the Christian goal, for living the Agape of Christ, abiding in Koinonia, and foster the Dunamis love of Christ found only in the body and bride of Christ. Therefore, we have accepted and adopted the following Statement of Fundamental Truths and Constitution. We shall seek, by the grace of God, to be governed by the Constitution as set forth, and will also seek to teach and propagate the doctrines contained in the Statement of Fundamental Truths.

Statement of Fundamental Truths: The Scriptures Inspired
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments of the Protestant Bible
are the Word of God, fully inspired without error and the infallible rule of faith and
practice. The Word of God is the foundation upon which the church operates and is the
basis for which the church is governed. We believe that the Word of God supersedes
any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures (Isaiah 28:13; Nehemiah 8:8; John
17:17; II Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; I Peter 1:23-25).
The One True God
We believe that there is one living and true GOD, has revealed himself as the eternally
self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all,
upholds all, and governs all things (Genesis 1:1 Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29, Isaiah
43:10, Matthew 28:19).
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ’s divinity, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily
resurrection, and ascension, as well as His ongoing intercession for believers
(Philippians 2:5-11; II Corinthians 5:21; I Peter 2:22; Romans 4:25; Acts 1:9-11;
Romans 8:34).

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a gift to all believers, to convict of sin and righteous judgement, regenerates believers, guides into all truth, empowers them for ministry, indwelling every believer at salvation (Acts 1:8; John 14:15-18; John 16:5-15).
Man, his Fall and Redemption
Man was created good and upright for God said, “Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness.” But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-21).
Sin
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice, falling short of God’s standard and breaking His commandments – and therefore are under God’s righteous judgment. Yet, God saves and gives new life to all who come to Him in repentance and faith, trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus Christ died in our place as our substitute, absorbing God’s wrath that should have come upon us. Because Jesus died for the sins of the world, the invitation to believe is open to all, and whoever desires may come unto Jesus for new life and the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 11:28; John 3:16; Acts 3:19, 20:21; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 8-9; I John 2:2; Revelation 22:17).

The Salvation of Man

Conditions of Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ and is offered to all who repent and believe (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).
Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. The outward evidence to all men is a transformed life of righteousness and true holiness (Romans 8:16; Galatians 5:22-26; II Corinthians 5:17).
Baptism in Water
The symbolic act of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the scriptures by all who have repented and believed in Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they have the body immersed in water as an outward symbol of dying. They declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:3-4).

Male Leadership in the Church
Gender matters to God. Masculinity and femininity are not just social constructs. When God created mankind, He did so male and female. God uses gender to teach important spiritual truths about His relationship with His people. We believe in the pattern and principle of male leadership and responsibility in both the home and the church, according to the sacrificial example of Jesus. We believe this limits the roles of pastoral leadership and doctrinal authority to qualified men (I Corinthians 11:1-12; I Timothy 2:1-15). We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are a part of the Body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:15-16).

The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Peter 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death (I Corinthians 11:26), a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers until He comes.

Regeneration
All people who turn from their sins and put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ receive a new birth by which their life is regenerated by the power of God’s Holy Spirit (John 3:3-6, Titus 3:5). From that time forth the regenerated person has God’s Holy Spirit dwelling within them enabling them to live a holy life (1 Corinthians 3:16, 2 Peter 1:3-4). Also giving them power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8).

The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ, the dwelling of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:20-22; Matthew 28:19-20, I Corinthians 10:31).

Ministry and Evangelism
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the evangelization of the world and the edifying of the body of Christ. A life in the Spirit built on a Biblical foundation, resulting in avoiding the excesses of emotionalism, while providing a stable community for Christians to mature in their faith. Evangelism first reveals itself primarily through the Christian’s life. Paul says that Christians are “living epistles, known and read of all men” (II Corinthians 3:2). Thus, the great majority of Christians through history have come through the personal witness of Christians. (Mark 16:15-20, Ephesians 4:11-13).
Worship
We believe that worship is spiritual, inspirational, intelligent, and fruitful, emphasizing the Bible’s teach on worship (John 4:24).
The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:11-14; I Corinthians 15:51, Romans 8:23).
Christ’s Second Coming
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, which is His personal, visible return to Earth and the establishment of His millennial kingdom; in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless separation of the wicked (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:11-15).

Heaven and Hell
We believe in a literal Heaven and a literal Hell and that all those who place their faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Those who reject Jesus’ free gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord (Psalm 9:17; Matthew 5:3; Matthew 5:22; Matthew 18:9; Matthew 25:31-34; Mark 9:42-49; Luke 12:5; John 3:18; Hebrews 12:23; I Peter 1:4; Revelation 14:10-11; Revelation 20:11-15).

Marriage
We believe that God created mankind and that He created them male and female. As such, He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the Bible consistent with the Old and New Testament (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 6:9-20; I Corinthians 7:1-9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-7; I Timothy 1:9-11).
